Haemaphysalis punctata Canestrini & Fanzago, 1878 - (red sheep tick)
This species of tick is found in Europe and temperate parts of western Asia. The hosts include cattle, sheep, goats, horses, and humans. It has been also associated with migratory birds. H. punctata can carry and transmit a number of disease-causing agents like viruses, Babesia, Theileria, Borrelia , Rickettsia and Anaplasma species.
