Xylotrechus quadripes Chevrolat - (coffee stem borer)

The beetle attacks the bark, stem and roots of coffee bushes and trees in Asia, Central America, and parts of Africa and the Pacific. The larvae feed on the roots and can cause the coffee stems to break off close to the ground. In severe infestations, yield losses can exceed 50%.
