Werneckiella equi (Denny, 1842) - (horse biting louse)
This chewing louse is widely distributed and lives on horses or donkeys. Although the lice normally cause little damage, heavy infestations can result in skin irritations and dermatitis. The lice are about 1-2 mm long.
