Venturia carpophila E.E. Fisher 1961 - (peach scab, almond scab)

The fungus is widely distributed and causes scab on Prunus species like almonds, peach and nectarines. Mainly the fruits become infected which show dark spots and are often unmarketable. It can also cause lesions on branches and overwinters there. The conidia are spindle-shaped.
