[Evaluation of the Coccinellidae (Coleoptera) fauna of ecologically managed cherry orchards in Izmir and Manisa provinces of Turkey]
Turkish Journal of Entomology 27 (1), 73-79
Abstract: A total of 25 Coccinellidae species were recorded in ecologically managed cherry orchards (Prunus avium L.) located in Izmir and Manisa, western Turkey during 1998 and 1999. The specimens were collected by sticky yellow traps, knock down and sweeping methods. Among the collected species, Stethorus gilvifrons (Muls.), Scymnus rubromaculatus (Goeze) and S.subvillosus (Goeze) were more abundant than others and Psyllobora vigintiduopunctata (L.) and Vibidia duodecimguttata (Poda) were mycetophagous and others were predators. Number of species recorded in this work was greater than previous works conducted in cherry orchards in Turkey.
