Tritimovirus (genus)

The genus includes plant viruses similar to Wheat streak mosaic virus. The viruses infect wheat and other Poaceae and are transmitted by mites of the genus Aceria. Symptoms include leaf streak, mosaic and dwarfing.

Like in other potyviruses the particles are non-enveloped, flexuous and filamentous. They have a length of 690-700 nm. The genome consists of monopartite or bipartite, linear, single-stranded RNA with a size of 9.3-10.0 kb.
