Trichogramma achaeae (parasitoid) Nagaraja & Nagarkatti, 1970
This wasp is believed to be native to Asia, but has been introduced other regions like the Americas and Europe. It is an egg parasitoid of various Lepidoptera, among them the important invasive tomato pest Tuta absoluta. In Europe is has been commercialised and is widely used in green houses against T. absoluta, together with other natural enemies like the predator Nesidiocoris tenuis. On T. absoluta, T. achaeae can achieve high rates of parasitism (~ 30%) and emergence (~ 65%) (Oliveira et al., 2017).
