Toumeyella Cockerell, 1895
This genus of soft scales contains around 20 species which are found in different parts of the Americas. They colonize mostly trees and some species are considered pests of fruit and forest trees. For example the tulip tree scale, Toumeyella liriodendri, infests trees like Liriodendron, Magnolia and Persea. The body of the females is usually strongly convex and often heavily sderotized at maturity.
