Tombusvirus dianthi

Assigned virus:
carnation Italian ringspot virus (CIRV)

The 'carnation Italian ringspot virus' is closely related to the 'tomato bushy stunt virus' (Tombusvirus lycopersici). It was first described infecting carnation in 1970, but since then has been also found to infect various other plants. The virus has been reported from Europe and eastern Asia.
