Tobacco mild green mosaic virus (TMGMV)

This virus has a wide distribution and infects solanaceous and other crops. It was first described from Nicotiana glauca, as causing mild leaf symptoms, contrasting those caused by Tobacco mosaic virus. However, on some tobacco varieties and on other plants like green pepper (Capsicum), the symptoms caused by TMGMV can be severe, including green and chlorotic mosaics, chlorotic spots, necrotic lesions as well as stunting and leaf drop. TMGMV is easily transmitted by mechanical inoculation.
