Tenothrips frici (Uzel, 1895) - (Mediterranean dandelion flower thrips)

This thrips is widely distributed in subtropical and temperate regions. It is regarded as a minor pest of various crops and fruit trees with a preference for Asteraceae (including non-crop species), breeding in the flowers and affecting the fruits. It is believed to be native to southern Europe and has been introduced into other regions. The adults have a length of around 1-1.5 mm.
