This template is similar to Template:CategoryMembers3, has a 2nd parameter which allows to exclude certain categories from the list. Call this template, for example as:
{{CategoryMembers3a|Bacteria|Pseudomonas syringae,Xanthomonas arboricola,
Xanthomonas axonopodis,Xanthomonas campestris}}
where in the 2nd parameter all categories to be excluded from the list are separated by commas. In some cases there may be problems with excluding the listed pages (apparently some strange formats of the comma are not recognized as separator). Do not write such a list on a word processing program and then insert it by copy and paste.
