Template:CategoryMembers2

This template is similar to Template:CategoryMembers. However, it can be used for listing species of genera for which some species have lower units (subspecies, var., f.sp.) in the system. It checks if any category members are under a category with the first 2 words of the name of the member. E.g. for listing the species of "Fusarium (genus)" it finds that "Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. lycopersici" is under the category "Fusarium oxysporum". In such cases, it lists the next higher unit, but not as category but as plain link.

Important:
The template only works for categories with names which use the binomial nomenclature. This means it is not applicable for viruses. Use the Template:CategoryMembers2a instead. Categories which have no members are not listed.

Note:
If the template finds less than 4 members it displays a simple list which has no italic format. In such cases use Template:CategoryMembers.
