Synanthedon novaroensis (Edwards, 1881) - (Douglas-fir pitch moth)

This clearwing moth is found in North America. It breeds under the bark of Douglas-fir, spruce and pine trees and can cause significant damage to young trees. The wingspan is about 30 mm. The body and legs are mostly orange and the abdomen has black bands.
