Stictococcus Cockerell, 1903
This genus of soft scale insects contains around 10 species and is found in tropical parts of Africa. A few species are root feeders and several are agricultural pests, in particular the cassava root scale, Stictococcus vayssierei. The genus is characterized by the anal orifice being located near the middle of the dorsum without a connection to the hind margin.
