Stemphylium botryosum Wallr. 1833

This fungus is widespread in soil and as a mould on stored products (black mould rot). It can also cause foliar diseases like leaf spot or leaf blight on various crops such as tomatoes, spinach or beans. The moulds can cause allergies and the leaf spot diseases might result in defoliation and a reduced market value if the leaves are sold, like in the case of spinach. The mycelium is olive-green to greyish and the conidia are brownish black.

Pleospora tarda
