Senna occidentalis (weed) (L.) Link - (coffee senna)

This weed is widely distributed in tropical and subtropical regions. It grows as a small shrub up to about 2 m and competes directly with crops like cotton or maize. Further, it is a reservoir of some plant diseases and poisonous to cattle. On the other hand, the plants are sometimes used for medicinal purposes or as a coffee substitute.
