Sclerotinia minor (weed pathogen) Jagger (1920)

This fungus causes blight, white mold, and soft rot diseases on crops, see Sclerotinia minor (as crop pathogen) for details. However, certain strains have been studied as biological control agents against weeds (bioherbicides). For example, strain IMI 344141, has been field tested against dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) and other broadleaf weeds in turfgrass environments (e.g. see Abu-Dieyeh et al., 2010).
