Sciothrips cardamomi (Ramakrishna, 1935) - (cardamon thrips)
This thrips is a pest of cardamon (Elettaria cardamomum) in India, but can also infest other plants of the family Zingiberaceae. It has been found in other regions. For example, it has been recorded in Hawaii on red ginger (Alpinia purpurata) since 1986.
