Schizaphis Börner, 1931
This genus contain around 40 species of aphids, some of which are important plant pests, above all the grrenbug, Schizaphis graminum, an invasive pest in America. They breed on cereals and grasses and usually have a monoecious life cycle (no change of host plants). A few Asian species have a dioecious life cycle with pear as the primary host.
The genus is similar to Rhopalosiphum but can be distinguished by the forewing venation of alates with two branches on the medial vein. The siphunculi are cylindrical and narrow slightly at the tip. The last segment of the rostrum is short.
