Salvinia molesta (weed) D. Mitch. - (giant salvinia)

The plant is native to Central - and South America and has become a serious aquatique weed in other tropical and subtropical regions. E.g. it was first reported from southern North America in 1995. Control has relied mainly on the introduction of natural enemies like the salvinia weevil.
