Rhammatocerus viatorius (Saussure, 1861) - (Arizona grasshopper)

This grasshopper is found in Central America and parts of northern South America as well as southern North America. It can cause occasional outbreaks with swarms invading other countries. For example such an outbreak occurred in 1958 when swarms invaded western parts of Venezuela (Guagliumi, 1958).
