Pratylenchus neglectus (Rensch, 1924)
The nematode is wide-spread and attacks wheat, other cereals and various other crops. It causes necrosis of the root tips and reduces the uptake of water and nutrients like nitrogen, resulting in stunted plants. Yield losses for wheat have been estimated at 12-15% in northwestern North America (May et al., 2016).
