Poecilus lucublandus (predator) (Say, 1823)

This ground beetle is found agricultural areas and woodlands of North America. The adults and larvae feed on a variety of arthropods like larvae of Lepidoptera or Coleoptera. The adult beetles are typically around 10-12 mm long, dark with a metallic sheen.
