Platynota Clemens, 1860

This genus of tortrix moths is native to the Americas, including the Galapagos Islands. Introductions have been reported from Hawaii and Europe. More than 30 species have been described. Several species are regarded as agricultural pests. For example, the tufted apple bud moth, Platynota idaeusalis, infests apple and other fruit trees, mainly in eastern North America. The forewings of Platynota have a brownish colouration.
