First report of Phaeoacremonium oleae and P. viticola associated with olive trunk diseases in Italy
Plant Disease 106 (1), 331-331
Abstract: From 2013 to 2019, olive trees (Olea europaea) grown in Italy were observed with symptoms of vascular discoloration, necrotic wood, and shoot death. The fungi Phaeoacremonium oleae and P. viticola were isolated from the diseased plants. The identification was based on morphological characteristics and DNA sequence analysis. Pathogenicity of the isolates was demonstrated for both species by inoculation and re-isolation.
