Plasmopara viticola causing downy mildew on Vitis davidii in Korea
Plant Disease 105 (11 - 0521)
Abstract: During 2020, spine grape plants (Vitis davidii) grown in South Korea were observed with downy mildew symptoms, including yellowish, brownish, or reddish, vein-limited, poly-angular adaxial leaf spots, corresponding to dense, white downy growth abaxially. The oomycete Plasmopara viticola was isolated from the diseased plants. The identification was based on morphological characteristics and DNA sequence analysis. Pathogenicity of the isolates was demonstrated by inoculation.
