First report of Monosporascus cannonballus on melon in Brazil
Plant Disease 88 (1), 84-84
Abstract: During 2002 and 2003, melon (Cucumis melo) plants grown in northeastern Brazil were observed with symptoms of melon vine decline, including yellowing of crown leaves, necrotic roots and collapse of the vines. The fungus Monosporascus cannonballus was isolated from the diseased plants. The identification was based on morphological characteristics. Pathogenicity of the isolates was demonstrated by inoculation and re-isolation.
