Pinnaspis aspidistrae (Signoret, 1869) - (fern scale)
This species of armoured scale insects is believed to be native to Asia, but is now wide-spread. It is of quarantine concern in some countries. The long list of host plants includes ferns, citrus, oil palm and rubber trees. In the Americas, it is common on citrus. The scale cover is 1.5-2.5 mm long and mussel-shaped.
