Phytomyza syngenesiae Hardy, 1849 - (chrysanthemum leafminer)

This leafminer fly is native to Europe and introduced into North and South America, Japan and Australasia. It breeds in chrysamthemums and other Asteraceae. Host plants from other families have been also reported. The adult flies are around 4 mm long and have a very similar morphology compared that of Phytomyza horticola.
