Physalis angulata (weed) L. - (cutleaf groundcherry)

This species of groundcherry is native to the Americas but now widely distributed in the tropics and subtropics around the world. It can be invasive and an environmental weed in introduced areas. It also affects various crops like maize or cucurbits and has been reported as a reservoir of plant diseases (e.g. Fonseca et al., 2013).
