Phoetaliotes nebrascensis (Thomas, 1872) - (largeheaded grasshopper)
This grasshopper is common in the rangelands of North America. It feeds on grasses and appears to prefer wheat grass, Agropyron (Pruess, 1969). P. nebrascensis can be the dominant species during outbreaks when densities might reach 100 grasshoppers per m2 (Branson, 2017).
