Pelargonium zonate spot virus (PZSV)
This virus is widely distributed and has a broad host range, including tomatoes and other crops. It was originally described from Pelargonium zonale. Symptoms include leaf mosaic, chlorotic and necrotic ring and line patterns, stunting, leaf malformation. On tomatoes, the virus can cause a serious disease with few fruits being produced and frequent plant death. It is transmitted through seeds (Lapidot et al., 2010).
The virus is the type species of the genus Anulavirus.
