Pediobius furvus (parasitoid) (Gahan, 1928)
This wasp is a gregarious endoparasitoid of Lepidotera pupae from the families Noctuidae and Crambidae. It is common in Africa and has been also introduced into southern parts of North America. In Africa it is an important natural enemy of stemborers infesting maize, like Chilo partellus or Sesamia species. More than hundred adult wasps can emerge from a single host pupa.
