Paranthrene Hübner, 1819
This genus of clearwing moths is widely distributed and includes nearly 100 species. Several of them have been reported to cause damage to forest trees, like Paranthrene tabaniformis which breeds and tunnels inside the branches of poplar trees in Europe. Especially young trees can be affected.
