Papuana uninodis Prell, 1912 - (taro beetle)
This is a small dynastid beetle, found in some Pacific islands. The adults are around 15 mm long. Among other plants, the species breeds in taro tubers and can cause significant damage. P. uninodis is native to the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu, but has been accidentally introduced into Fiji (first record 1984) Most of the outbreaks have been reported from Fiji.
