Pagiocerus frontalis (Fabricius, 1801) - (Colombian maize beetle)

This beetle is a pest of ripe and stored maize cobs in South and Central America. It is occasionally introduced into Europe with stored maize. P. frontalis also breeds in the seeds of of fallen Persea fruits (e.g. avocado) and other Lauraceae.
