Oxya nitidula (Walker, 1870)
This grasshopper is regarded as a rice pest in India. Outbreaks have been reported with hopper densities of more than 20 per m2, leading to defoliation of plants. There are 3-4 generations per year. The adults are around 2½ cm long with a yellowish green colour and a dark brown lateral stripe.
