Oscinella Becker, 1910

This genus of frit flies contains more than 50 species which are widely distributed. About half of them are present in Europe. Several species are known as cereal pests like the common frit fly, Oscinella frit. The genus is characterized by the wing venation and other structures like the head and the scutellum.
