Ophiosphaerella korrae (J.C. Walker & A.M. Sm. bis) Shoemaker & C.E. Babc. 1989 - (necrotic ring spot of turf)

Like several other Ophiosphaerella species, this fungus infects Bermuda grass and other turf grasses, causing a dead spot disease. Grass regrows in the dead centres of these spots causing necrotic rings or a mixture of dead and green patches. Roots become infected first and turn necrotic. The disease is found in North America, but has been also reported from Italy.

For identification see the protocol on BugwoodWiki.
