Oomyzus (parasitoids) Rondani, 1870
This genus of wasps is widely distributed and contains around 20 species. Most of them are egg, larval and pupal parasitoids of Coleoptera or Lepidoptera. Several are important natural enemies of pests, parasitizing for example eggs of the elm leaf beetle (Xanthogaleruca luteola), larvae of the alfalfa weevil (Hypera postica) or larvae and pupae of the diamondback moth (Plutella xylostella). The genus is closely related to the genus Tetrastichus.
