Oedaleus asiaticus Bey-Bienko, 1941

This grasshopper is found in temperate parts of Asia in areas with abundant grass and a warm and dry climate. It is very similar to Oedaleus decorus and has been previously regarded as a subspecies of O. decorus. In north-eastern Asia, O. asiaticus can reach high populations causing damage to grasslands and crops. In contrast, O. decorus is usually not damaging and is even regarded as endangered in parts of Europe, due to land‐use changes.
