Nephotettix nigropictus (Stål, 1870)

The leafhopper is a pest of rice in Asia and Australia as well as a vector of a number of virus diseases like the tungro disease. It is green with distinct black marks in both sexes. The forewings are black in the apical third and males have a black spot just outside the middle of the clavus.
