Nephotettix Matsumura, 1902 - (green rice leafhoppers)
The genus is found in Asia, Australia and Africa. It contains nearly 10 species. Some of them are important rice pests in Asia and transmit rice viruses, e.g. Nephotettix cincticeps.
The species are large, bright green leafhoppers, often with black marks. Males often have more black markings. The crown is flat and the male genitalia have characteristic structures separating the species from closely related genera.
