Neodiprion pratti (Dyar) - (Virginia pine sawfly)

The sawfly is found in North America. Several subspecies are known which feed on a variety of hard pines:
- Neodiprion pratti banksianae jack pine sawfly - occurs from Minnesota and Manitoba in the west to New Brunswick in the east, a defoliator of jack pine.
- Neodiprion pratti paradoxicus - occurs in the northeast from Maryland to Maine and westward around the Great Lakes.
- Neodiprion pratti pratti - occurs from Indiana to Maryland and south to the Carolinas.
