Neltuma glandulosa (weed) (Torr.) Britton & Rose - (honey mesquite)

This species is a problem weed in rangelands in North America. Although it is native to the Southern Great Plains of North America, it has historically remained at low densities, due to frequent fires and competition with grasses and other vegetation. After the arrival of European settlers, it has gradually increased its abundance and become an invasive rangeland weed. Among the reasons for this increase are reduced fire events, overgrazing of rangelands by cattle, and a better distribution of its seeds through cattle.
