Käfigversuche zur Freiland-Prüfung der biologischen Wirksamkeit von Pheromonpräparaten zur Paarungsstörung
[Bio-assays with field-cages to study the efficacy of pheromone products for mating disruption in vineyards and apple ochards]
Nachrichtenblatt des Deutschen Pflanzenschutzdienstes 59 (10), 227-232
Abstract: An alternative way of mating disruption method (autoconfusion) was tested for the first time using a bio-assay which was developed to study the efficacy of mating disruption pheromone products. Furthermore, this bio-assay was used to study mating disruption in espalier fruit ochards. Efficacy of mating disruption was measured by releasing reared males of the Tortricid moths Lobesia botrana Den. and Schiff. and Cydia pomonella L. in field cages and recapturing them with traps containing living females. The more males where recaptured the lower the efficacy of mating disruption.
