Ophiosphaerella agrostis sp. nov. and its relationship to other species of Ophiosphaerella
Mycologia 92 (2), 317-325
Abstract: In 1998, a species of Ophiosphaerella was isolated from diseased creeping bentgrass. The identification was based on morphological characters and on the ITS region of the rDNA. The new species Ophiosphaerella agrostis is described based on these studies. Intraspecific genetic variation was assessed using amplified fragment length polymorphism DNA fingerprinting of 17 isolates collected from 9 different locations. A 90% similarity was found among the isolates.
