Monilinia vaccinii-corymbosi (J.M. Reade) Honey 1936 - (mummy berry disease)
The fungus infects open blueberry flowers and the ovaries, eventually resulting in the mummification of the developing fruits. The fungus produces pseudosclerotia in the fruit mummies. These overwinter on the soil surface and develop apothecia (around 5 mm large) in early spring. The ascospores then infect blueberry flowers as soon as the buds open.
