Monarthrum fasciatum (Say, 1826)
This ambrosia beetle is found in eastern North America. There are also record from parts of western North America. It is polyphagous and infests a variety of forest trees, including some fruit and nut trees. However, mainly weakened and dying trees are attacked. The adults are usually 2-3 mm long and are coloured in two shades of brown.
